How to Use the Emergency Disconnect

What this does:

Allows you to operate your garage door by hand during a power outage.

STEPS

  1. Make sure the door is fully closed. This prevents it from dropping suddenly when released.

  2. Find the emergency release cord. Look for the red handle hanging from the opener rail overhead.

  3. Pull the cord straight down. You should hear a click as the opener disengages from the door.

  4. Manually lift the door. Use both hands and raise it smoothly in one motion.

  5. Check how the door holds. If it feels heavy, is hard to lift, or doesn’t stay open—stop and contact us at 505-884-1166

How to Reconnect

  1. Manually close the garage door.

  2. Re-engage the trolley. Pull the red cord towards the door to re-engage the opener’s trolley.

  3. Test the opener. Press the wall button or remote to confirm it operates normally again.
